Frequently Asked Questions

Q) What is the team philosophy?
A) "Learning through competition" – The goal is to strengthen the fundamentals and team play concepts necessary for success at the next level.  Playing time will be earned through attendance and performance at both practices and games.  Game situations will cause individual playing time to vary from game to game, but players who attend games and practices should average at least one quarter per game.

Q) How often does the team practice?
A) Each team will practice twice per week. Our practices are designed to develop and refine skills so attendance at as many practices as possible is key to the growth of each player. While games showcase these skills, the real benefit to players comes from practices.

 

Q) Where / Where will the practices be held?
A) Buffalo Grove area, locations will be finalized before tryouts.   Practice schedules will be finalized before tryouts.

Q) How many tournaments will we go to?
A) The number of tournaments will be related to the length of the season. Our goal is to allow for several practices in between tournaments so that the players can focus on skill development.

Q) What are the tournament dates?
A) Schedules will be determined after teams have been chosen.  We will survey the players and choose the tournaments when the most players are available.

Q) Where will the tournaments be?
A) We will keep everything within in a reasonable drive. Nothing should require an overnight stay.

Q) When will payment be due?
A) We will ask for a $25 deposit at tryouts, a deposit to hold the spot when teams are announced and the final payment at the first practice.

Q) Is the $25 deposit a tryout fee?
A) The $25 deposit at tryouts is NOT a tryout fee - it will be refunded if the player is not offered a place on a team roster. This deposit enables us to guarantee the funds for gym rentals and uniforms.
